Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. After a short rest, we review travel documents, do a quick briefing, and confirm last-minute gear needs for the remote Dolpo logistics.

Today is for permits paperwork, gear organization, and a practical briefing on altitude and remote-trail routines. If time allows, we include an easy Kathmandu Valley visit to stay active without fatigue.

Fly to Nepalgunj, the gateway city for western Nepal flights. We keep the evening light—final packing, route review, and an early night before the Dolpa flight sequence.

Take the morning flight toward Dolpa and land at Jhuphal. Begin the trek with a gentle descent and river-valley walk to Dunai, settling into your first night on the trail.

Follow the Bheri River on a classic Dolpo approach day, passing small settlements and suspension bridges. The trail undulates through cultivated pockets and forested sections before reaching Tarakot.

Continue deeper into the valley corridor as the trail narrows and the landscape becomes wilder. Expect long walking hours and steady altitude gain to the camping area around Laini.

Acclimatization and recovery day in Laini to let your body adapt before higher camps. Optional short hikes help with adaptation, then we return for a relaxed afternoon.

Trek along the river through tighter gorges and mixed terrain, gradually rising toward Nawarpani. This day sets up the push toward the high cultural valley of Dho Tarap.

Climb into the open valley as Tibetan-influenced culture becomes more visible. Arrive in Dho Tarap and take time to settle, hydrate, and keep the pace conservative.

Acclimatize in Dho Tarap with optional walks and time to observe local village life. This day builds a safety buffer before moving to higher camps and the first major pass.

Leave Dho Tarap and climb toward Numa La Base Camp, where the landscape becomes more alpine and exposed. We keep a measured pace, focusing on hydration and steady breathing at altitude.

Pass day over Numa La: an early start, a steady climb to the high point, then a long descent into the next valley system. Camp at Pelung Tang to recover after one of the trek’s biggest effort days.

A shorter recovery-style day as you continue down-valley from Pelung Tang. The terrain relaxes slightly, helping you regain rhythm and energy before the second high pass.

Cross Baga La, the second major pass, linking high terrain back toward the Phoksundo basin. After the top, descend carefully into Ringmo, the gateway village for Phoksundo Lake.

A gentle approach to the lakeside area with time to absorb the turquoise scenery and dramatic cliff walls. This lower-effort day is designed to enjoy the landscape and recover.

Rest day at Phoksundo Lake for exploration and recovery. Optional hikes to viewpoints or nearby cultural sites add depth without pushing altitude aggressively.

Begin the return leg, descending out of the lake basin through forests and river trails. The drop in elevation is noticeable—take care of knees on long downhill sections to reach Shyanta.

Follow familiar trails back toward Jhuphal, passing villages and terraces. This final trekking day is a good moment to dry equipment, pack carefully, and prepare for the flight out.

Fly out of Dolpa and connect back to Kathmandu. The rest of the day is for a comfortable meal, hot shower, and debrief after completing a truly remote trek.
